You will learn the steps necessary for becoming a trainer. It's a process and this TOT (Train-the-Trainer) workshop is one of the required components of that process. The Texas Core Competencies for Trainers will be included in these workshops.
You've sat through countless presentations and thought to yourself, "I could totally teach this and I would... ". Now it's time to do just that. We'll cover the foundations of adult learning theory and what early childhood professionals need at specific points in their career.
Whether you're presenting in person at a conference or staff inservice, doing corporate training for an early childhood company, presenting virtually or giving a keynote, you'll learn the key factors required for excellence.
At Texas Child Care Training we sell thousands of courses each year and many centers choose online training for their staff. Learn the basics of writing an online course and this will open many possibilities for you as a trainer. I've got some great ideas to share with you on this!

Here's how it works:
1. *To become a registered trainer, there's an application process. There are education and experience requirements, one of which is professional development in adult learning.
2. TOT trainings teach you how to teach adults with excellence.
3. To apply for the trainer registry, 15 TOT hours are required. To renew your registry account, 8 TOT hours are required.
4. Our workshop package provides 10 clock hours of TOT training in all 5 Core Competency areas.

When you register, you'll get an email with instructions on how to join our Zoom meeting, with a unique link for each workshop.
Here's what you'll need:
Yes, provided you attend the workshop, sign in at the beginning and sign off at the end - that way I know you were actually there on the other side of the computer screen. Your certificate of completion will be emailed to you.
You'll be able to access a recording for a limited time after each live workshop. This will allow you time to rewatch as you are actually creating your first training outlines and planning how get your audience engaged and excited about what you're teaching.
I know things come up, especially if you work full time in an early childhood program. If you're unable to make it, you can email me and we'll make sure you have access to the recording. We'll give you a worksheet to complete as you watch the recording. Once that's submitted, we'll send your certificate.
It depends. There are several levels of registered trainers. Your education, number of years working with children, and profession will define your level. Verification of your experience and education is part of your application process through the Texas Trainer Registry.
That said, seasoned teachers and administrators have a wealth of knowledge to share, especially with those just starting out with children. We need you out there! Plus it's tons of fun 🤩
Once you're a registered trainer in the state of Texas, your registry is good for 3 years. There are requirements for recertification, which include TOT training and documentation of trainings provided. You can learn more here.
